Tony Award nominee Laura Bell Bundy has been cast in the TBS pilot "Hound Dogs," according to Variety.
Bundy will play a bartender looking to start a career as a country singer. She will be the love interest of a rookie pitcher played by Rob Mayes.
A Tony Award nominee for Legally Blonde, Bundy also appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and Wicked, and Off-Broadway in Ruthless, The Musical!, receiving Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for the latter.
On screen, Bundy has been seen in "Dreamgirls," "Guiding Light," "Jumanji," "Life with Mikey," "Adventures of Huck Finn," "Home Improvement," "Strangers with Candy" and "Curtis Court." Her country albums include "Achin' and Shakin'" and "Longing for a Place Already Gone."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
