Laura Benanti, Daisy Eagan, Randy Harrison, Aaron Lazar and More Set for Upcoming Skivvies Concert at 54 Below
20 Mar 2014
Tony Award winners Laura Benanti and Daisy Eagan will join The Skivvies for their upcoming One Giant Leaf for Mankind concerts at 54 Below on April 29.
Actor-musicians Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd, Marry Me a Little) and Nick Cearley (All Shook Up) are the duo behind The Skivvies, known for their acoustic performances of pop songs, wearing nothing but their underwear. Molina, Cearley and their guests play instruments ranging from the cello, ukulele, guitar and glockenspiel to the melodica.
The 9:30 PM performance will feature Benanti (Gypsy, Women on the Verge) and Eagan (The Secret Garden), as well as Randy Harrison (Wicked), Aaron Lazar (A Little Night Music, Light in the Piazza), Jason Michael Snow (The Book of Mormon) and Mark Price (Silk Stockings).
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
