Stephen Spielberg's "Lincoln," featuring a screenplay by Tony Kushner and starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field, led the pack with 13 nominations, including Best Adapted Screenplay (Kushner), Best Actor (Day-Lewis), Best Supporting Actor (Tommy Lee Jones), Best Supporting Actress (Sally Field), Best Director (Spielberg) and Best Score (John Williams).
Les Misérables, which debuts in theatres Dec. 25, earned nominations for Best Song ("Suddenly" by Claude-Michel Schonberg/Alain Boublil/Herbert Kretzmer), Best Actor (Hugh Jackman), Best Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway), Best Acting Ensemble, Best Director (Hooper), Best Cinematography (Danny Cohen), Best Art Direction (Eve Stewart/Anna Lynch), Best Editing (Melanie Ann Oliver/Chris Dickens), Best Costume Design (Paco Delgado) and Best Makeup.
Additional theatre-related nominations include Denzel Washington (Best Actor for "Flight"), Jessica Chastain (Best Actress for "Zero Dark Thirty"), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Best Supporting Actor for "The Master"), Amy Adams (Best Supporting Actress for "The Master"), Judi Dench (Best Supporting Actress for "Skyfall"), Daniel Craig (Best Actor in an Action Movie for "Skyfall"), Jake Gyllenhaal (Best Actor in an Action Movie for "End of Watch"), Anne Hathaway (Best Actress in an Action Movie for "The Dark Knight Rises"), Judi Dench (Best Actress in an Action Movie for "Skyfall"), Bradley Cooper (Best Actor in a Comedy for "Silver Linings Playbook"), Paul Rudd (Best Actor in a Comedy for "This Is 40") and Shirley MacLaine (Best Actress in a Comedy for "Bernie").
