A new production of A Streetcar Named Desire, which begins performances at London's Young Vic Theatre July 23 prior to an official opening July 28, is to be broadcast live from the theatre Sept. 16 to cinemas around the U.K. and the world.

It was recently announced that the production - already the fastest-selling in the theatre's history - had extended its run by two weeks, to play through Sept. 19 instead of the previously announced Sept. 6.

The production is directed by Benedict Andrews and stars Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster and Vanessa Kirby. Also in the cast are Clare Burt, Lachele Carl, Branwell Donaghey, Otto Farrant, Nicholas Gecks, Troy Glasgow, Stephanie Jacob, Corey Johnson and Claire Prempeh.

A Streetcar Named Desire is National Theatre Live’s first collaboration with the Young Vic Theatre. National Theatre Live performances are broadcast via satellite to over 1,100 venues in over 40 different countries  around the world, live in Europe and some U.S. cities, and time-delayed in countries further afield.
