17 Apr 2006
Former "New Mickey Mouse Club" performer Lindsey Alley will star in her own one-woman show Look Ma . . . No Ears at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
Directed by Joy's Ben Rimalower, the musical memoir will play April 29-June 6 at the intimate cabaret with an official opening set for May 6. Alley penned Look Ma . . . No Ears with Stephen Winer, and the show features songs by Bob Stein.
The creative team for the production includes Michael Woll (costume design) and James DeForte (choreography). Eva Price produces Look Ma, which is described as "a satirical send-up . . . [about] a small-town girl making it in the big city."
Lindsey Alley spent seven seasons on "The New Mickey Mouse Club." Her theatrical credits include productions of Paper Moon, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Proof, Hollywood Arms and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Her screen credits also include "B.L. Stryker," "Roller Jam" and "Earnest Saves Christmas."
Look Ma . . . No Ears will play Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM and Tuesdays at 7 PM. Tickets, priced $35, are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Café on West 42nd Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
