The Very Model of a Modern Major Lyricist: W.S. Gilbert and the Broadway He Inspired, hosted by Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Sheldon Harnick ( Fiddler on the Roof), will feature Jason Danieley ( Next to Normal, Candide) and David Garrison ( Titanic, Wicked). Rob Fisher is the artistic director of the concert, which will be held Jan. 12-14, 2013.
Give Me Fever: The Many Voices of Peggy Lee will feature La Tanya Hall ( Dreamgirls), Gabrielle Stravelli, cabaret veteran Marilyn Maye and concert artistic director Billy Stritch. It will take place Feb. 23-25, 2013.
Taking a Chance on Love: The Music of Vernon Duke, under the direction of David Loud, will be presented April 6-8, 2013, and will include Heidi Blickenstaff ( [title of show], The Addams Family) and Rebecca Luker ( Nine, The Secret Garden).
The Song is You: Jerome Kern Coast to Coast, directed by Deborah Grace Winer on May 4-6, 2013, will include Karrin Allyson, Debby Boone ( Seven Brides...), Jeffry Denman ( The Producers), Jay Leonhart, James Naughton ( Chicago), Paula West, Karen Ziemba ( Contact, Curtains) and Barbara Carroll.
Casting has not been announced for the final presentation, Brush Up Your Shakespeare: The Bard and the Broadway Musical with Mark Lamos as artistic director and Wayne Barker as musical director, June 1-3, 2013.
Concerts in the series will be held at the Kaufmann Concert Hall.
