Max von Essen, Randy Harrison, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Santino Fontana, Christina DeCicco Set for A Better Holiday Concert
04 Dec 2012
A Better Holiday Concert, a benefit for the It Gets Better Project, which was "created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach," will be presented Dec. 16 from 7-10 PM at XL Nightclub.
The evening will raise funds for the Ali Forney Center, the nation’s largest organization working on behalf of runaway and homeless LGBTQ youth; the AFC had a vital drop-in center destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in late October.
The night will kick off with a cocktail party from 7-8 PM, where photographer Victor Haim's art will be showcased and sold. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to the AFC, on top of all proceeds from ticket sales.
Acclaimed comedy duo The Haus of Mimosa will host the concert, which will feature the talents of Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Santino Fontana, Monica Raymund, Andy Mientus, Max Von Essen, Ali Stroker, Randy Harrison, Christina DeCicco, Donna Vivino, Declan Bennett, Ryann Redmond, Ariana DeBose and Gregory Haney.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
