Written by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler, the series is set in 1900 downtown New York, and, according to Deadline.com, "centers on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics."
Filming began earlier this week.
Executive producers include Amiel, Begler, Soderbergh, Owen, Michael Sugar and Gregory Jacobs executive produce.
In addition to her numerous theatrical outings, Errico's recent television credits include "Blue Bloods" and "The Good Wife," and her recent film work includes "Loverboy" (with Kyra Sedgwick, directed by Kevin Bacon) and "Patrimony" (co-starring Robert Vaughn).
Errico will also be part of Kurt Weill on Broadway, an Oct. 7 evening celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Broadway bow of One Touch of Venus; the actress was part of the City Center Encores! production of that famed musical. The concert at Symphony Space, which will be directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, will also feature Brent Barrett, Judy Blazer and Ron Raines, alongside winners of the Lotte Lenya Competition.
