Michael Flatley to Return to London Stage in Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games at the Palladium
30 May 2014
Michael Flatley is to return to the London stage to star in a season of Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games, a new version of a show he first created in 1996 that originally premiered at Dublin's Point Theatre before touring the world.
According to a report in the U.K.'s Daily Mail, he will be part of a troupe of 40 dancers to star in the show (although, says the Mail, "His routine won't be as strenuous as it once was.")
The show will begin performances Sept. 1 at the London Palladium for an eight-week season.
The show will also star Former Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, who will play goddess Erin.
Further details are still to be announced. Tickets are not yet on sale.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
