Michael Laurence, who performed his solo show Krapp 39 at the SoHo Playhouse in 2009, will return to the Off-Broadway venue with Hamlet in Bed, which will begin performances Jan. 16, 2013.

Lisa Peterson (An Iliad) will stage the 90-minute dark comedy authored by Laurence that will also feature Lisa Emery (Relatively Speaking, Marvin's Room). It will officially open Feb. 3, 2013, for a run through March 17, 2013.

Here's how it's billed: "In Hamlet In Bed, Michael is an actor and adoptee obsessed with two things - finding his real mother, and playing the famous Gloomy Dane. His twin fixations collide when he tracks down Anna, a reclusive former actress-turned-barfly whom he believes to be his actual birthmother, and lures her into a noirish production of Hamlet playing the role of the queen, his mother. Rehearsals expose the complicated inner lives of each actor and bring them ever closer to the slippery truth of their relationship."

Laurence also appeared on Broadway in Talk Radio and Desire Under the Elms. His stage roles also include Opus, The Morini Strand, Good People and Humpty Dumpty.

Hamlet in Bed will have set design by Rachel Hauck, projection design by Tal Varden, lighting design by Matt Frey, sound design by Matt Tierney, costume design by Clint Ramos and props by Faye Armon.
