In the play, Marcus and Colin have escaped the madness of London to live in the peaceful countryside. But will this new idyllic reality soon be shattered when Steven, his beautiful young boyfriend Jamie, and the enigmatic Wendy arrive unexpectedly for supper.
Collins is best known for playing Cindy Beale in "EastEnders." Other roles include the BAFTA-nominated "Two Thousand Acres of Sky" and Jaqueline Wilson's Emmy Award-winning "The Illustrated Mum." She was most recently seen in "Coronation Street" playing series regular Stella Price. West End theatre includes Rattle of a Simple Man and Daddy Cool at the Shaftesbury. Regionally, she has toured in Calendar Girls and in seasons at Bolton's Octagon Theatre.
Playwright Martyn Hesford's TV credits include "Fantabulosa!," "A Small Mourning," which won the Radio Times Drama Award, "Brazen Hussies," "Nicholas Nickleby" (ITV1), "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (Sky Movies) and "The Old Curiosity Shop" (ITV1). He was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for his play Mothers Day (Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester).
The play is directed by Abbey Wright, who has been a resident assistant director at the Donmar Warehouse, working with Alan Rickman, Peter Gill, Sean Holmes, Jeremy Herrin, Jamie Lloyd and John Tiffany. She was also Danny Boyle’s staff director on Frankenstein at the National Theatre in 2011. Directing credits include Dublin Carol (Donmar Trafalgar) and Bitch Boxer (Soho).
