Mick Jagger on Board to Bring Documentary "20 Feet From Stardom" to Stage and Screen

Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger is in talks to bring the documentary "20 Feet From Stardom" to the stage and screen, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Academy Award-nominated documentary explores the lives of talented backup singers, who made careers performing behind legends of the music industry. The documentary shows the highs and lows, including stories of performers whose shot at stardom was always kept just out of reach.
Morgan Neville directed the film that features commentary by Jagger.
A proposed Broadway production would feature some of the actual performers who appear in the documentary, including Darlene Love (Hairspray) and Lisa Fischer.
A television adaptation would focus on contemporary performers.
Jagger and Victoria Pearman would executive produce along with Neville.
Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
