Carnival!, based on the 1953 film "Lili," features music and lyrics by Bob Merrill and a book by Michael Stewart. The 1961 musical, which will run Oct. 21-Nov. 2, includes songs such as "Mira," "Sword, Rose and Cape," "Her Face," "Yes, My Heart" and "She's My Love."
Following Carnival! will be the 1963 musical The Girl Who Came to Supper Nov. 4-16. The Noel Coward musical, according to press notes, "is set in 1911 London. An American chorus girl becomes involved with a Balkan archduke (after he sees her perform in a West End musical), his teenage son and the Queen Mother, as well."
The 1928 musical Whoopee!, featuring the songs "Love Me or Leave Me," "Yes, Sir, That's My Baby," "My Baby Just Cares For Me" and "Makin' Whoopee," will run March 3-15, 2015. The musical features lyrics by Gus Kahn, music by Walter Donaldson and a book by William Anthony McGuire. According to Musicals Tonight!, "Sally has been forbidden to marry Wanenis because of racial differences. Henry, a hypochondriac, helps Sally elope and then is accused of kidnapping. Even more zany complications ensue. Perfect for Eddie Cantor!"
Jule Styne's Hazel Flagg will run March 17-29, 2015. The 1953 musical includes the songs "Every Street's a Boulevard in Old New York," "How Do You Speak to an Angel" and "You're Gonna Dance With Me, Willie." According to press notes, "A reporter invites a girl dying from exposure to radium to New York City for an interview. After accepting, she discovers she was mis-diagnosed but decides not to reveal the truth because she has become a media darling."
