Directed by Scott Edmiston, the limited engagement will continue through Feb. 9, 2013.
The cast will feature Nancy E. Carroll (Present Laughter), Anne Gottlieb (A.R.T.'s Futurity), Munson Hicks (August: Osage County), Karen MacDonald (SpeakEasy's The Drowsy Chaperone) and Christopher M. Smith (NY premiere of Tennis in Nablus).
Other Desert Cities, according to SpeakEasy, "tells the story of Brooke Wyeth, a once promising young novelist, who returns home after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her brother, aunt, and parents, the latter of whom are former members of Reagan's inner circle. The festivities are short-lived, however, when Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family's history - a wound that her parents do not want reopened."
Other members of the creative team include scenic designer Janie E. Howland, costume designer Charles Schoonmaker, lighting designer Karen Perlow and sound designer Dewey Dellay, who also provides original music. Katie Ailinger is the production stage manager.
The Virginia Wimberly Theatre is located inside the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts at 527 Tremont Street. For more information and tickets, call (617) 933-8600 or visit SpeakEasyStage.com.
