Luce marks Lee's professional playwriting debut. The play will officially open Oct. 21 for a run through Nov. 17. Adrales directed David Henry Hwang's The Dance and the Railroad at the Signature Theatre Company, as well as Thomas Bradshaw’s Bereaved.
In addition to Huff (Tame Me Out, When I Come To Die), Hinkle (Graceland, Elektra) and Onaodowan (Neighbors, Cyrano de Bergerac), the cast will feature Olivia Oguma (Les Miserables, Emotional Creature) and Sharon Washington (The Scottsboro Boys, Wild With Happy).
Here's how the play is billed: "When a teacher makes an alarming discovery about Luce (Onaodowan), an all-star high school student, Luce's parents (Hinkle and Huff) are forced to reckon with their idealized image of their son, adopted years ago from a war-torn African country."
Luce will have sets by Timothy R. Mackabee, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Tyler Micoleau and sound by Jill BC Du Boff.
