Neil Patrick Harris
Tony nominee Matthew Morrison will get some competition when Neil Patrick Harris guest stars as his rival in an upcoming episode of "Glee," according to EW.com's Ausiello Files.
Harris ("How I Met Your Mother," Cabaret, Rent, Assassins) is set to portray Bryan Adam, a board member at McKinley high who seeks to cut arts programs at the school.
He also happens to be a character from glee-club leader Will Schuester's past. Flashbacks will show Harris' character getting all the attention and the girls, while Schuester (Morrison) sits off to the sides.
Joss Whedon will direct the episode, which promises an intense duet between the rivals.
"Glee" will resume with all-new episodes April 13 at 9 PM ET on FOX. The series has also been picked up for a second season. Spring Awakening's Lea Michele and Jenna Ushkowitz also star.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
