It Shoulda Been You, the musical comedy that premiered at the George Street Playhouse in 2011, is targeting a March 2015 Broadway arrival, according to an Equity casting notice.

Conceived by Barbara Anselmi, It Shoulda Been You has book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove, with music by Anselmi and additional lyrics by Jill Abramovitz, Carla Rose Fisher, Michael Cooper, Ernie Lijoi and Will Randall.

Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce will direct the Broadway run of the musical, which he also staged during its 2011 premiere at the George Street Playhouse. The actor-director previously told the Hollywood Reporter that he was hopeful the show would arrive on Broadway during the 2014-15 season.

Noah Racey (Curtains, Holiday Inn, Never Gonna Dance) will choreograph the musical, which will have musical direction by David Loud. Rehearsals are to begin in mid-January towards a targeted March 25 Broadway opening.

The notice states that several of the leading roles have been cast. An official announcement of the Broadway production has not been made.

The George Street production featured Lisa Howard as Jenny Steinberg, Tom Deckman as Walt/Uncle Morty, Mylinda Hull as Mildred/Aunt Sheila, Tony winner Tyne Daly as Judy Steinberg, Richard Kline as Murray Steinberg, Jessica Hershberg as Rebecca Steinberg, Matthew Hydzik as Brian Howard, Curtis Holbrook as Greg Madison, Carla Duren as Annie Sheps, Edward Hibbert as Albert, Tony winner Harriet Harris as Georgette Howard, Howard McGillin as George Howard and David Josefsberg as Marty Kaufman.

Here's how the musical is billed: "In a world where nothing is what it seems, religions collide, Machiavellian plots are revealed, promises broken, secrets exposed, and hope springs from the most unlikely of places. Is it the latest conflict in the Middle East? No, it’s just the Steinberg wedding."
