New Sundays Concert Will Spotlight Work of Craig Carnelia, Adam Gwon, Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk
22 Oct 2013
New Sundays, 54 Below's ongoing series that debuts new work from New York-based musical theatre writers, will continue Oct. 27 at the Manhattan nightspot.
The 9:30 PM concert will feature the work of songwriters Craig Carnelia (Sweet Smell of Success, Is There Life After High School?), Adam Gwon (Ordinary Days, The Boy Detective Fails) and the duo of Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk (Henry & Mudge, The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown).
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
