The cast of Kansas City Repertory Theatre's new musical A Little More Alive will offer a sold-out, secret acoustic show on Stage 3 of Rockwood Music Hall March 22 at 6 PM. The cast leaves March 25 for rehearsals for the world premiere, which runs April 11-May 11 on the Rep’s Copaken Stage.

The one-hour performance, held at 185 Orchard Street, will feature songs from the show, anecdotes about the process and other songs written or arranged by cast members, which include Van Hughes, Lindsay Mendez, Michael Tacconi and Kayla Foster. Writer Nick Blaemire will also play songs by his band, the Hustle.

Daniel Jenkins will not attend, due to his role in Sarah Ruhl's Stage Kiss at Playwrights Horizons.

Directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller, the new musical features book, music and lyrics by Blaemire. The show is being produced by Kansas City Repertory Theatre through special arrangement with Hunter Arnold and TBD Theatricals.

The cast will comprise Daniel Jenkins as Gene Fuller; Van Hughes as Nate Fuller; Michael Tacconi as Jeremy Fuller; Lindsay Mendez as Lizzie; Kayla Foster as Molly; and in a separate cast who only appear in interstitial “home videos,” Jenny Powers as Maggie Fuller; Stephen Kunken as Robert Hutchens; Christian Maldini as Young Nate; Patrick Gibbons as Young Jeremy; and Lukas Parrish as 4 Year Old Nate.

A Little More Alive is described as a “captivating new pop musical, in which two estranged brothers reunite at their mother’s funeral. An unexpected discovery upends every memory they have – and it becomes their mission to learn the truth about their family; but, along the way, Nate and Jeremy find that no one is exempt from the gray area between right and wrong.”

The production will have musical supervision and orchestrations by Jesse Vargas, musical direction by Cian McCarthy, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and Cory Pattak, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, scenic design by Wilson Chin and costume design by Alison Heryer.

Kansas City Rep’s Copaken Stage is located at 13th and Walnut streets in Kansas City, MO. Ticket prices range from $20 for students to $29-$59 for adults. For ticket and performance information, call the KC Rep Box Office at (816) 235-2700 or visit KCRep.org.
