A reading of Carol Rocamora's I take your hand in mine…, a play suggested by the love letters of Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper, will be presented March 16 at 3 PM at the Edith Fabbri House/House of the Redeemer.
I take your hand in mine..., according to press notes, is a "one-act play about the love between the renowned playwright Anton Chekov and great actress Olga Knipper, set against the backdrop of the newly formed Moscow Art Theatre. Chekov and Knipper knew each other only six years; married for three of them, they were separated much of the time due to his health and the demands of her profession. While apart, they wrote letters to each other—passionate, open, spontaneous letters, full of longing, love and humor, full of the rich detail of their everyday lives as artists and ordinary people."

The House of the Redeemer is located at 7 E. 95th Street. A donation is requested, and a reception will follow the reading. For reservations call (212) 289-0399.
