Oh, What a Flop! Benefit Concert Will Feature Tunes From Baby, The Rink, Rags, Seussical, Smile and More
19 Nov 2012
The Beautiful Soup Theater Collective will present Oh, What a Flop!, an annual celebration of Broadway's biggest flops that will benefit the company's 2013 production of Arthur Bicknell's Moose Murders, Dec. 8 at The TAI Group.
Steven Carl McCasland and Mallory Berlin will host the 7:30 PM concert, which will include performances from Collective members Luke Anthony, Kira Christoforidis, Rebecca De Ornelas, Chasmin Hallyburton, Anna Kirkland, Samantha Mercado-Tudda, Noelle Stewart and Jordan Tierney along with special guests Marc Castle, Lani Corson, Barnaby Edwards, Janet Fanale (Forbidden Broadway), Kathryn Francisco, Caroline Rosenblum, Toni Stanton and Brittany Velotta. McCasland will accompany the artists at the piano.
Oh, What a Flop!, according to Beautiful Soup, "is an evening of songs and stories from Broadway's most infamous disasters. Complete with side-splitting introductions about each of the shows we'll highlight, dramatic readings of opening night reviews and songs you've never heard (and will probably never hear again), this concert is sure to be a blast. Last year's celebration of flops even included a very special performance of Carrie (Abridged) by Steven and Mallory. Be sure to expect another abridged musical to make an appearance this time, too!"
Audiences can expect to hear songs from musicals such as Baby, The Rink, Georgy, Henry Sweet Henry, Rags, Sugar, Seussical, Nick and Nora, Smile, Bajour and more.
All proceeds raised will benefit the Soup's January 2013 revival of Arthur Bicknell's Moose Muders.
The TAI Group is located at 150 West 30th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues) on the 14th floor. For more information and tickets, click here.
