The Daily Mail reports that Marber and Leveaux are editing the script.

Closer played a Broadway run in 1999, with Natasha Richardson, Rupert Graves, Anna Friel and Ciarán Hinds playing the two couples.

The play was adapted into a 2004 film starring Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen. Portman and Owen received Academy Award nominations for their performances.
