Orfeh Will Co-Host and Perform at The 14th Annual Column Awards
06 Feb 2013
Tony nominee Orfeh will co-host and perform at the The 14th Annual Column Awards Gala, which will be held Feb. 25 at the Carpenter Theatre at the Irving Arts Center.
The Column Awards honor excellence in theatre within the entire Dallas-Fort Worth Theatre metroplex, both in Equity and Non-Equity. They are the only theatre awards organization in the United States that serve as a major fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Over the past 14 years, the awards have raised over $85,000 for BC/EFA.
“The Board of Directors and I are bursting with frenzy excitement on having Orfeh as our special guest star," said founder/executive producer John Garcia in a statement. “I became a faithful fan the second I saw her on Broadway in Saturday Night Fever. When I met her after the show, her physical beauty took my breath away. She had already slayed me with her out of these world vocal pipes on stage, but to see her face to face. Well I was under her spell."
Orfeh stated, “I am so honored to be following in the footsteps of the legendary Chita Rivera. I'm pretty sure the only reason she's not hosting again this year is that she's canoodling with my husband (albeit on stage) right now. And that's one huge thing we have in common!"
