Patti LuPone Will Appear in Third Season of HBO's "Girls"
20 Sep 2013
Tony Award winner Patti LuPone will guest star as a fictionalized version of herself in the third season of the HBO series "Girls," a representative for the actress confirmed to Playbill.com.
An air-date has not been determined for the two episodes featuring LuPone (Gypsy, Evita). "Girls," created by and starring Lena Dunham, premiered in 2012. The third season of "Girls" will air in 2014.
The series, according to HBO, "takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s.... Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna are trying to figure life out. They’ve been living in New York for a couple of years, but they’re still not sure what they want – from boys, from each other, from themselves. And things aren’t getting any clearer."
The cast also features Jemima Kirke (“Tiny Furniture”), Allison Williams (“American Dreams”), Zosia Mamet (“Mad Men”) and Adam Driver (Angels in America, HBO’s “You Don’t Know Jack”).
