On Oct. 13, four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening visited with the touring cast of The Book of Mormon in Los Angeles to thank them for their benefit performance supporting The Actors Fund.
The added matinee performance raised over $200,000 for the Actors Fund in both ticket sales and private donations from patrons.
Gavin Creel (Hair, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mary Poppins) stars in The Book of Mormon as the straitlaced, apple-cheeked Elder Price, who dreams of an assignment in Orlando, opposite Broadway cast member Jared Gertner as his "Star Wars" and "Lord of the Rings"-loving missionary pal, Elder Cunningham.
The Book of Mormon plays the Pantages Theatre at 6233 Hollywood Blvd.
Jared Gertner, Gavin Creel and the cast welcome and thank the audience for attending the benefit performance.

"South Park" creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to The Book of Mormon, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical. The big-hearted, irreverent and profane musical traces the journey of two mismatched missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who take the trip of a lifetime.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
