Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly hosted The 42nd Annual Theatre Hall of Fame ceremony, held Jan. 28 at 7:30 PM in the Gershwin Theatre's North Rotunda.
The 2012 Theater Hall of Fame inductees include actors Betty Buckley and Sam Waterston, directors Trevor Nunn and Michael Kahn, producer/director Andre Bishop, playwrights Paula Vogel and Christopher Durang and, posthumously, costume designer Martin Pakledinaz. Buckley was unable to be part of the ceremony because she is currently in London in rehearsals for the upcoming revival of Dear World.

Founded in 1971 by James M. Nederlander, Earl Blackwell, Gerard Oestreicher and L. Arnold Weissberger, the Theater Hall of Fame honors Lifetime Achievement in the American Theater. The top eight nominees receiving the most votes are annually inducted.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
