The stars came out for Victor Garber's performance at 54 Below. Bradley Cooper (Williamstown’s The Elephant Man), Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd) and Amy Irving (We Live Here), plus Tony Award winners Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, David Hyde Pierce, Betty Buckley, John Benjamin Hickey, Ron Rifkin, John Kander, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman were among those who visited with the singing actor backstage.
The venue billed the concert as follows: "Before Eli Stone, there was Sweeney Todd, before 'Titanic,' there was Lend Me a Tenor, before 'First Wives Club,' there was Assassins, before 'Alias,' there was Arcadia and before 'Legally Blonde,' there was Damn Yankees. The New York stage is thrilled to welcome back Victor Garber as he makes his cabaret debut."
Other performers scheduled for the remainder of August include Faith Prince (Guys and Dolls, A Catered Affair) and Jason Graae (Falsettos), Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid) and Tonya Pinkins (Jelly's Last Jam).
Set in the magical world of La Belle Epoque Paris, where fashion, glamour, and passion prevail, Lerner and Loewe's celebrated musical is a romantic comedy about one young woman's journey to find her true self... and her true love.
