The event, for which Christie Brinkley was Honorary Chair, also honored Alan L. Bain, chairman of The American-Scottish Foundation.
Jarrod Spector, who starred as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, performed at the awards.
The Broadway Beacon Awards are held annually to support Inside Broadway's mission of bringing theatre to under-served public school students in New York City. The evening is hosted by FOX5 entertainment reporter Anna Gilligan, and entertainment includes students from JHS 278 in Brooklyn who are members of the Inside Broadway school arts program.
"We are so thrilled to be honoring these remarkably talented individuals for their contributions to New York and the theatre…the Broadway Beacon Awards is always a wonderful way for us to end the theatre season and this year is no exception," Inside Broadway executive director Michael Presser said in a previous statement.
Inside Broadway was established in 1982 by Michael Presser and reaches over 30,000 New York City students each year. It develops and produces touring equity musical productions as well as a wide range of educational programs that allow participants to interact with professionals in the field and experience theatre hands-on in the classroom.
