Denise Van Outen, Siobhan Dillon and Carley Stenson join the continuing original cast members Sheridan Smith, Alex Gaumond, Aoife Mulholland and Peter Davison in the West End run of Legally Blonde The Musical.
Van Outen, who takes over as Paulette from Jill Halfpenny, returns to musical theatre having previously been seen in the West End in Tell Me On A Sunday, Chicago (also Broadway), Rent and Les Miserables. She is also known for her extensive TV presenting credits, which include "The Big Breakfast," "Something for the Weekend," "Who Dares Sings," "Grease: Summer School Musical," "The Friday Night Project" and "The 5 O'Clock Show." She also hosted "Grease Is The Word" for NBC in the USA and appeared as a panelist on the BBC's "I'd Do Anything" and "Any Dream Will Do."
Here's a look at Van Outen and Smith in the production:
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
