PHOTO CALL: Indie-Pop Band Sky-Pony, With Gentleman's Guide Star Lauren Worsham, Plays Downtown's Mercury Lounge

Indie-pop band Sky-Pony, headed by Lauren Worsham of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, played Manhattan's Mercury Lounge March 16.

The band is a collaboration between Worsham and her musician-writer husband Kyle Jarrow. At the 8 PM concert, they were joined by David Blasher, Eric Day, Lizzie O'Hara, Matt Owens, Perry Silver, Jessi Suzuki and Kevin Wunderlich.

Sky-Pony promises "lush, lyrical, often cheeky indie-pop with a healthy dose of theatrics. They incorporate costumes, choreography and projections into their high-energy live shows. Rock concert meets performance art meets burlesque, you might say."

Worsham's theatrical credits also include the New York City Opera production of Candide, the Goodspeed staging of Carnival and the national tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Opening for Sky-Pony at 7 PM were Toys and Tiny Instruments, offering "infectious high-energy tunes that incorporate a whole bunch of toys and tiny instruments."
