Chandra Wilson, Kerry Washington and more were on hand to help celebrate the 44th Annual NAACP Image Awards at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium on February 1.
The NAACP Award is presented by the American National Association for the Advancement of Colored People to honor outstanding people of color in film, television, music, and literature.
The 35 categories of the Image Awards are voted on by NAACP members. Honorary awards are included, such as the President's Award, the Chairman's Award, Entertainer of the Year and The Image Award Hall of Fame.
The award ceremony was first presented in 1967 and was first nationally televised in 1994. The 44th annual NAACP Image Awards were broadcast by NBC on February 1.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
