PHOTO RECAP: "Bon Voyage!" A Two-Show Day at Anything Goes With Raymond J. Lee
08 Jul 2014
Roundabout's recent hit Broadway revival of Anything Goes closed on this date in 2012. Cast member Raymond J. Lee offered an exclusive, candid look backstage at the show.
In our most detailed and extensive "Two-Show Day" installment to that date, Lee (with the help of fellow cast member Joyce Chittick) took Playbill.com into the world of Cole Porter's classic musical. Armed with a digital camera, Lee showed readers his morning routines and backstage activities and introduced the many colorful, hard-working people who inhabited the Stephen Sondheim Theatre eight shows a week.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
