In the height of "May Madness," the staff at Playbill.com lightened the mood with our favorite Broadway governor, Ann, played by 2013 Tony Award nominee Holland Taylor. Here are shots of our "Playbill Ann" series.

When pictures of Taylor posing as Spider-Ann, The Nann and more — all created cut-and-paste style by senior editor Andrew Gans — hit the Internet by way of social media site Twitter, the actress  (nominated for writing her acclaimed solo show, in which she also stars) called the Playbill.com offices to share her excitement over the "Playbill Ann" series.

"The mock Playbills have so spiced my already happy mood I'm practically airborne," Taylor told Playbill.com via email May 24. "First one I saw was The Nance, and I laughed out loud and [was] determined to get a copy for my dear friend Jack O'Brien who directed the play. Then I found out Playbill had done a whole series, and as I saw them, I couldn't believe my good fortune. Ann Richards would laugh her ass off. The great incongruity of some of them, the hilarious and quick mockery…!"

With Taylor's blessing, the staff at Playbill.com offers you the "Playbill Ann" series, including Spider-Ann; The Nann; The Book of MormAnn; Ann, Sonia and Masha and Spike; PassAnn; PippAnn; and more.

"What a cool thing for me to see to see and have. Talk about fun and witty," added Taylor. "That's really the point — the wit of it. That special turn of mind — an internal twirl, delighting still when the laugh is done. I'm so proud my play was selected for this tomfoolery! What better thing than to giggle at something walking to work? Something smart."
