Broadway actress Rachel Potter, who has been seen in the revival of Evita and The Addams Family, currently finds herself amongst the Top 12 in the reality singing competition "The X Factor." We wondered: What should be Potter's next musical on Broadway?
Playbill.com polled our readers via Facebook and Twitter asking them to share what show Potter should star in and why.
Here are some of our reader responses followed by our own commentary.
Andrea Chilkiewicz: I adore Rachel's voice. I thought she'd be a nice Eponine for the Les Miserables revival.
Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical Les Misérables will return to Broadway in 2014 with Tony Award winner Nikki M. James as street urchin Eponine. West End actress Samantha Barks belted "On My Own" in her turn as Eponine in the star-studded film adaptation, and we'd love to hear Potter's take on the classic.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
