Highlights From Sting's The Last Ship Concerts at the Public Theater
Taken from his experiences growing up in a shipbuilding town in North East England, pop superstar Sting's The Last Ship tells the tale of a father and son who aim to sail away from a dying industry. Featuring his first new songs in a decade, the musical — with book by John Logan (Red) and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal) — aims for a 2014 Broadway bow. In the midst of a ten-show series of benefit concerts for the Public Theater, Sting performs songs from the show, which he also released as an album of the same name. Highlights included "The Last Ship," "What Have We Got," "Practical Arrangement" and "And Yet." Performances continue through Oct. 9 at the Anspacher Theater. Read the Playbill story.
Featuring the Broadway classics “To Life (L’Chaim!),” “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Sunrise Sunset,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and “Tradition,” Fiddler on the Roof will introduce a new generation to this uplifting celebration that raises its cup to joy! To love! To life!
