Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which was up for Best Musical, took home top honors for leading lady Jessie Mueller, who portrays the Grammy-winning music icon. When asked if the musical was London-bound, King declined to reply, turning the microphone over to a surprised Mueller. "They've looked into it, but I can't confirm anything," she said.

With her Tony Award in-hand, Mueller also spoke about the possibility of reprising her performance in London, saying, "If they'd like me to do it, I'd happily hop over the pond for a while."

Producers did not have official comment on the development, but a representative for the production confirmed to Playbill.com that negotiations were underway to bring the show to London.

Moments later, the creators and producers of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which beat Beautiful for the Best Musical Tony Award, also shared news of a London run.

"We definitely intend to bring the show to London," the creative team said, while noting that a specific timeline was not currently in place. "We have a producing partner who is working with us already. It will definitely happen."

The Tony-winning musical, which has a decidedly British sensibility, is based on the film "Kind Hearts and Coronets."
