"Law & Order" Welcomes Bernadette Peters Nov. 28

Two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters, who continues to tour the country in her acclaimed concert act, makes a special guest appearance on "Law & Order: SVU" Nov. 28. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," according to the drama's official website, chronicles "the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York Police Department, the elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes." The show, created by Dick Wolf, is currently entering its eighth season and features a cast led by Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay. Bernadette Peters was last on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Gypsy, for which she received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Momma Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed production. She won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods.
