By Kenneth Jones
Academy Award nominee and two-time Emmy Award winner Mare Winningham, currently making her New York stage debut in the Patty Griffin-Keith Bunin musical 10 Million Miles, will bring a country-folk flavor to Joe's Pub June 17. As a singer and musician, Winningham has also toured across the country. At Joe's Pub, she "will perform an eclectic mix of traditional country bluegrass music" as well as selections from her newly released third studio album "Refuge Rock Sublime," a recording of "original Jewish country/folk songs with a unique take on traditional Jewish themes." Her other albums include "What Might Be" (1992) and "Lonesomers" (1998). Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere musical 10 Million Miles features music and lyrics by Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Patty Griffin, a book by Keith Bunin (The Credeaux Canvas) and direction by Tony Award nominee Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening). Mare Winningham's Joe's Pub concert is produced by Jayson Raitt. Tickets are $25 (plus a two-drink minimum or $12 food minimum) per person at tables. All seating is general admission.
