The Commercial Theater Institute, created by the Theatre Development Fund and the League of American Theatres and Producers, has announced the productions that will take part in the new intensive for prospective producers.

Participants in the latest program, entitled the Creative Development Intensive, are scheduled to meet with recent Broadway producers and their creative teams, who will present in-depth case studies detailing the process for producing commercial theatre.

Among the productions scheduled to participate as case studies for CTI are In the Heights, Radio Golf and The Color Purple. The creative and producing teams behind the Broadway productions will be represented at three consecutive Monday-night seminars.

During the final two sessions of the seminar, participants will have the ability to present their own current production projects to a panel of established theatre professionals for critique and feedback.

The intensive is limited to about 15 advanced participants. Applicants must have completed either the three-day prospective producer seminar or the 14-week advanced intensive for commercial theatre production. The Creative Development Intensive runs for six consecutive Monday nights from Nov. 12–Dec. 17.

Founded in 1982, the Commercial Theater Institute is dedicated to training the next generation of commercial theatre producers by offering various workshops and intensive training programs featuring industry professionals.
