Lloyd, Hearn, Barbeau, Kane and More Set for Grumpy Old Men: The Musical Reading
By Andrew Gans
As previously announced, two staged readings of the Broadway-bound Grumpy Old Men: The Musical will be presented in Manhattan in November. Executive producer Ken Denison said in a statement, "This is an outstanding opportunity to bring back to Broadway some of our finest veteran performers." Grumpy Old Men: The Musical is based on the 1993 Warner Bros. film of the same name. Glen Casale will direct the reading of Grumpy, which features a score by Neil Berg (music) and Nick Meglin (lyrics) and a book by Dan Remmes. The musical, according to press notes, "is the story of two aging men, Max and John, neighbors, who have been feuding for most of their lives. The two men are re-united in friendship through the love and compassion of their new neighbor across the street, the beautiful, and eccentric, Ariel."
