By Ernio Hernandez
Stage and screen actress Sarah Jessica Parker is slated to star in Amy Sherman-Palladino's forthcoming film "The Late Bloomer's Revolution," according to Variety. The film, according to the trage magazine, concerns a single woman who, following her mother's death, "develops a bond with her father as they both try to get on with their lives in the dating world." Sherman-Palladino previously directed episodes of her series "Gilmore Girls" as well as episodes of her new comedy "The Return of Jezebel James," which is slated to air on FOX. The latter features Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose.
Best known for her award-winning work as Carrie Bradshaw on HBO's "Sex and the City" — which she is currently reprising for the upcoming film based on that series — Parker's roots are on the stage. The actress made her Broadway debut in The Innocents and then became a replacement in the title role of the Tony-winning musical Annie. Other stage credits include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (where she played opposite husband Matthew Broderick), Once Upon a Mattress, To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, The Heidi Chronicles, The Substance of Fire, Sylvia and Wonder of the World. She will also star in the upcoming film adaptation of Rebecca Gilman's Spinning Into Butter. |
