The Great American Trailer Park Musical Tour Kicks Off in WA Jan. 10
By Ernio Hernandez
The Great American Trailer Park Musical hits the road Jan. 10 as the national tour begins at Spokane, Washington's Bing Crosby Theater. Following a premiere at the New York Musical Theater Festival, the work played a 2005 Off-Broadway run at Dodger Stages. Featuring music and lyrics by David Nehls with a book by Betsy Kelso, the country-rock and blues musical was billed as a "show about agoraphobia, adultery, '80s nostalgia, spray cheese, road kill, hysterical pregnancy, a broken electric chair, kleptomania, strippers, flan & disco." The ensemble cast includes Dane Agostinis (as Duke), Doreen Barnard (Betty), Lindsay Devino (Pickles), David Howard (Norbert), Erica Livingston (Jeannie), MaryAnne Piccolo (Lin), and Sara Ruzicka (Pippi). Kenneth D'Elia and Carolyn Kimmel are the swings. The Great American Trailer Park Musical tour design team features Jo Winiarksi (scenic), Jennifer Caprio (costume), Jeremy Rolla (lighting) and Marc J. Rongere (sound). The tour will hit the following venues (subject to change): Eva Price (of Maximum Entertainment) and Janet Pailet (P2 Creations) in association with Downstairs Theatre Cabaret produce the tour.
