PHOTO CALL: "Broadway Barks" Book Party
By Matthew Blank
A party was held at Manhattan eatery Le Cirque the evening of May 12 to celebrate the release of "Broadway Barks," a new children's book penned by two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters. Amazon.com describes the story as such: "In a park in New York City lives a lonely little dog. He remembers when he used to get taken for walks, fed dinner every night, and told he was a good dog. Now, he's all alone and must fend for himself. But everything changes one day when he sees a lady reading in the park and decides to follow her—all the way to a place where he might become a star!" Sales of the book benefit Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore over a decade ago. Broadway Barks 10 — the annual animal adoption event held in Shubert Alley - is scheduled this year for July 12. For more information visit www.broadwaybarks.com.
