Daly Will Step in for Von Stade at New York Festival of Song Gala

Emmy and Tony Award winner Tyne Daly, most recently on Broadway in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rabbit Hole, will be part of Here to Stay, the New York Festival of Song's 20th Anniversary Gala Celebration that will be presented May 21 at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall. The concert will be followed by dinner and additional performances at the Rainbow Room beginning at 9 PM. New York Festival of Song was founded in 1988 by its co-artistic directors, Steven Blier and Michael Barrett. The company is dedicated to "creating intimate song concerts of great beauty, humor and originality, combining music, poetry, and history to entertain, educate and create community among audiences and performers. . . .NYFOS particularly celebrates American song literature and culture, and specializes in premiering and commissioning new American works." Best known for her Emmy-winning work on "Cagney and Lacey," Tyne Daly won a Tony Award for her performance as Rose in the 1989 Gypsy revival. She was also Tony-nominated for her work in Rabbit Hole, and her other Broadway credits include That Summer—That Fall and The Seagull.
