Redgrave Will Perform Rachel and Juliet, a Tribute to Mom Kempson, June 2

Lynn Redgrave, who was most recently seen on the New York stage in the Mick Gordon-AC Grayling play Grace, will present her latest solo show June 2 at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

Following the success of Mandrake Root, Shakespeare for My Father and Nightingale — Redgrave's three previous works about her acting family — comes Rachel and Juliet. The latter, according to the Kaye Playhouse, is "a tribute to [Redgrave's] mother, the actress Rachel Kempson, and her lifelong love of the role of Juliet."

Presented by the Shakespeare Society, Redgrave will perform her newest one-woman show at 7 PM.

Last seen on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn in The Constant Wife, Lynn Redgrave's other credits include Talking Heads, The Exonerated, Black Comedy, Aren't We All, Moon Over Buffalo and another Tony-nominated turn in Mrs. Warren's Profession. She was nominated for Academy Awards for her work in the films "Gods and Monsters" and "Georgy Girl."

Redgrave's Tony Award-nominated Shakespeare For My Father dealt with the actress' father, the late Michael Redgrave; The Mandrake Root was loosely based on her mother, actress Rachel Kempson; and Nightingale was inspired by memories of her maternal grandmother, Beatrice Kempson.
