Joe's Pub 10th Anniversary Season to Feature Bernhard, Lemper, Hoffman and Sh-K-Boom Series

An initial list of series and artists have been announced for the 10th anniversary season at Joe's Pub, the intimate cabaret located within the Public Theater. In a statement Joe's Pub director Shanta Thake said, "The 10th anniversary is a great opportunity for us to reflect on the immense breadth of talent that has come through our doors while continuing to set the standard for live entertainment in New York, the country, and the world. We have created a space where literally anything is possible. From hip-hop to country, dance to jazz, and Broadway to Bach, you can see it at Joe's Pub." Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis added, "In the last 10 years Joe's Pub has become an integral part of the Public Theater's mission and the cultural life of New York. Under its inspired director, Shanta Thake, the Pub will continue to be a beacon to musicians and artists who refuse to be segregated, pigeonholed, or made into commodities." Highlights of the anniversary season follow.

Created and Performed by Mike Daisey Directed by Jean-Michele Gregory Part of the Public Theater's 2008-09 season Daisey "investigates the secret history of the Department of Homeland Security through the untold story of the father of the neutron bomb and a personal pilgrimage to the Trinity blast site."
Dec. 26-31 The return of the acclaimed comic/actress.
November 14-15, 21-22, 28-29 German-born cabaret and Broadway star Ute Lemper returns with a journey that leads audiences "through the French song world from Ferre, Piaf to Prevert and Brel and continues to the backstreets of Berlin, where ancient ghosts with new faces write poetry and songs between yesterday and tomorrow."
Earl Dax re-teams with Mike Albo and Marga Gomez for Mike and Marga and continues with Karen Finley's Impulse to Suck; The Stew Songbook featuring Stew and Heidi Rodewald; and vocalists including John Cameron Mitchell, Taylor Mac and Penny Arcade.
Sept. 7 at 9:30 PM Broadway artists perform a mix of rare and well-known show tunes.
Sept. 8 at 9:30 PM. The concert will feature music from many of LaChiusa's shows, including Bernarda Alba and Little Fish. Singers will include Alice Ripley and Lea DeLaria.
Nov. 2 A benefit concert featuring tunes from previous Broadway Loves concerts.
Dec. 7 and 8 at 7:30 PM Broadway actor-singer Billy Porter offers "an evening of song, featuring new American Broadway standards, gospel, and soulful originals.
