Nixon and Moore Will Join Fiennes, McGovern and Neeson July 26-27 in Gate|Beckett
By Andrew Gans
A starry line-up has been assembled for the July 26-27 readings of the poetry and prose of Samuel Beckett, part of the current Gate|Beckett production presented by the Lincoln Center Festival. "The actors," according to press notes, "will read from a selection of extracts from Beckett's novels and poetry, as well as his shorter prose and dramatic works." Tickets, priced at $20 and $40, may be purchased by calling (212) 721-6500 or by visiting LincolnCenter.org. The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College is located at Tenth Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets. * Gate|Beckett, which runs through July 27, features three Beckett pieces not originally conceived for the theatre as well as readings of Beckett's poetry and prose. The plays comprise Eh Joe (with Neeson), which was penned for television in 1965; I'll Go On (with McGovern), adapted from the 1950s novels "Molloy, Malone Dies" and "The Unnamable"; and First Love (with Fiennes), based on a 1965 novella. |
