"Grapes of Wrath" CD Event, with Tony Winner Clark, Presented at Barnes & Noble Aug. 26

Tony Award winner Victoria Clark, currently starring in the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of The Marriage of Bette and Boo, will take part in the Aug. 26 performance celebrating the release of the new Ricky Ian Gordon-Michael Korie recording, "The Grapes of Wrath." Clark will sing the role of Ma Joad with Elizabeth Futral as Rosasharn, Jesse Blumberg as Tom Joad, Kelly Markgraf as The Ragged Man, Stephen Powell as Noah, Robert Orth as Uncle John and Mary Phillips as Mae the waitress. Librettist Korie and composer Gordon will host the event, which will feature Timothy Long and Gordon on piano. The Grapes of Wrath features music by Ricky Ian Gordon and a libretto by Michael Korie. The opera made its debut in February 2007 at the Minnesota Opera Company. The three-disc "Grapes of Wrath" boxed set will also be released Aug. 26 on the PS Classics label.
