PHOTO CALL: Frost/Nixon at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis
By Matthew Blank
Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon will make its American regional premiere on Sept. 5 when it opens at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Having begun performances Sept 3, this new staging by Rep artistic director Steven Woolf stars Keith Jochim as former U.S. President Richard M. Nixon and Jeff Talbott as British interviewer David Frost, the central pair squaring off. The work dramatizes Frost's quest and approach to the infamous post-Watergate interviews with fallen leader. Also featured in the company are Michael Brightman as Ollie, Jim Wisniewski as Jim Reston, Steve Callahan as the Studio Manager, Jeremy Holm as Jack Brennan, Kelley Ryan as Evonne Goolagong, Keith Merrill as John Birt, David Anzuelo as Manolo Sanchez, Matt Landers as Swifty Lazar, Jenny Mercein as Caroline Cushing and David Christopher Wells as Bob Zelnick. A co-production with Geva Theatre in Rochester, NY (where it will play in October-November), Frost/Nixon continues its St. Louis run to Sept. 28. The unrelated national tour of the Broadway production launches later this month, and the motion picture will be released later this year.
