Pastore and Aiello to Star in Off-Broadway's Lamppost Reunion
By Andrew Gans
A revival of Louis La Russo's Tony-nominated play Lamppost Reunion will begin performances at the Arclight Theatre in Manhattan Nov. 7. In a statement Danny Aiello, who starred in the play's original Broadway run, said, "I'm so glad these guys are doing the play again. I'm so proud. I can't wait to see it!" "Twenty years later, following his sold out one man show at Madison Square Garden," press notes read, "a world famous singer brings his right hand man with him to his old barroom hangout in Hoboken, New Jersey. His friends from the past, Biggie the owner/bartender, Mac the local Irish cynic0 and Tommy the local fun loving bookie drink the night away with this famed singer and his sidekick as if it was just yesterday. Too much booze, mixed with memories, some painful ones, open unsettled scores between the men and expose the tragic yet often humorous truths about their lives." Lamppost Reunion played Broadway's Little Theatre Oct. 16, 1975-Dec. 21, 1975. Directed by Tom Signorelli, the original cast included Danny Aiello, Frank Bongiorno, Gabriel Dell, George Pollock and Frank Quinn. For tickets visit www.smarttix.com or call (212) 868-4444.
